Chapter Three Summary-
In this chapter Gatsby's Chauffer brings Nick an invitation to his party, most people aren't, they just show up. He feels sort of out of place. Nick runs into Jordan, her friend Lucilla, thinks he was a German spy, a graduate from Oxford, and once killed a man. The party is very loud and luxurious, many people getting drunk. Nick and Jordan set out to find Gatsby, and instead run onto a man with big owl eyes. Nick and Jordan start to talk with a young man who happened to serve in the same division as Nick. When he introduces hiself as Jay Gatsby, Nick is shocked. At 2 in the morning husband and wives start to argue whether to leave. Gatsby talks with Jordan for awhile. Nick leaves and comes across Owl Eyes struggling out of his car that is in a ditch. Him and his fried are very drunk. He then describes how his life isn't just about parties. He works in NYC. He had small relationship with a hirl from Jersey City, then ends up seeing Jordan. He knows she is dishonest and even cheated her golf tournament but he is atracted to this quality.

Quote-
" He had one of those smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may cross four or five times in life."
